We constantly beat the drum, but Blogs drive traffic to your website. There is absolutely no disputing that. #analytics
At The Island Creative, we use them as our “give back” to our current and potential clients. Each month on our website, Maddie puts together a fantastic blog full of tips and information to help you build your business but then links certain areas to our services or contact page should you require support in these areas. This is a little thing we like to call warm marketing. People are coming to you to learn about your business, you are building trust by giving them free information and it then helps them to step over the line and make contact with you. You can literally see the spike in website visitors each month when we launch a blog, it’s exciting! Every business can utilise blogs, either written or videos (also known as vlogs) in their business.
Ecommerce can talk about specific products, product ranges, and something we are seeing a lot of this Christmas is gift guides. Make the right gift guide for your audience and you will drive hundreds of people to your website to read it. The longer they are on your website, the more chance they will purchase. You can write with the focus on your target market, from your own perspective, or if you are a bit more creative, from your product's perspective (Toy Story style!).
Service-based businesses have even more opportunities to talk about their specific business topics. We like to discuss current trends in our industry, posts from groups we are members of, our own personal challenges and how we have overcome them. At the end of the day, it’s about providing valuable content for your audience and becoming someone who they want to hear from on a regular basis or who can provide solutions to help them overcome a challenge.
All you need to get started is a page on your website where the blogs can be accessed and a bit of an idea of what you want to blog about. Then just put your fingers to the keys and see what comes out! If you need assistance getting your website or blog page set up, please contact us here. (See what we did there?)
Most businesses know the importance of blogging for their business but either lack the expertise to write an engaging article or simply don't have the time to do it. Did you know that we can blog on your behalf? Maddie is a wordsmith and a chameleon when it comes to blogging. She currently writes monthly blogs for us, an accountant, a children's clothing business, a restaurant, and a sporting club - talk about diversity! We’d love to read your blogs, or help you with your blogging in 2020!
